This post will highlight several issues that were brought up directly on indirectly towards me. Some of these issues seem to be simple misinterpretations or misinformation.

The following points will be highlighted:

  1. Moderators taking valuables from unlocked chests
  2. Unban apeals on the forum
  3. Administration flow and internal limitations

1. Moderators taking valuables from unlocked chests
This issue is very simple to highlight. I have seem some complaints about moderators taking for example diamonds and gold from unlocked chests when they are requested to do so by players. This might seem odd, but comes from our core principle when dealing with chests. The admin policy is to remove chests alltogether when they are requested to be unlocked, if they have considerable valuables in them. These values are determined by the admin in question, however for moderators the problem exists that they cannot use world edit, nor creative mode and thus have to find another way to deal with this policy. Most moderators have thus adopted to remove items manually and then transfer them to the vault in Silveredge. None of these items taken are taken for personal use, this is covered further in point 3.

2. Unban apeals on the forum
Whatever the size or reason for your server ban, you always have a right and a chance to apeal your ban on the forum. This includes permanent bans, although you have to make a good impression and pardon to be excused from a permanent ban. While currently 05rhardy has been replying to most of the apeals (rejecting them), he is not the ultimate authority on ban apeals. Any and all ban apeals are reviewed by the staff, meaning the whole staff together make a decision, and then one person who happens to be in touch with the topic notifies the apealer of the decision. Phrases like “05rhardy got me banned and since he is the forum admin, apealing a ban is pointless” are false and misinformed. If you feel like you are badly or unfairly treated by an admin or moderator trough either the forum or other channels such as TS, just contact another impartial admin, or in last resort cases, MonMarty if you have not already.

3. Administration flow and internal limitations
There seem to be rumors floating around that admins and moderators can do whatever they want, which is quite simply not true. Admins and Moderators are internally limited by rules set up by Cayorion, and also control checks from peer administration staff. This may often seem adbsent since most of the complains towards this come from cases where people were banned for insulting, patronizing, or otherwise downtalking administration. This is because harassment, bothering or otherwise annoying administration is a highly bannable offence. The administration staff take their free time to try and help people, None of them get paid or any sort of noteworthy reward for their work, it is thus also not considered a job, but volontary work. It should be noted that we have an internal moderating flowchart which gives suggestions as to how long we should ban for certain offences, but these differ from admin to admin in practice. In the end it’s up to the administrator in person to determine the lenght of the ban, ban times can be shortened or removed by other admins but this only very rarely happens. Admins and Moderators accept constructive criticism, but be aware that it really needs to be constructive. Stuff such as “You such you are a terrible admin”  is flammatory and will get you banned. Stuff such as “I feel you are too personally involved in this case due to your dislike of my person, and thus request another admin to deal with this case” is constructive and acceptable. If you feel an admin or moderator does not listen to your criticism or ignored you, contact a higher-up, or other team member.

I hope this clarifies any issues floating around right now, if you have any other issues you would like me to adress, point them out in the comments below and I will reply to whatever I feel is a valid concern that should be rectified.
