Hello MassiveCraft! We hope you’re having a wonderful day. Here is a changelog of all the Lore changes and updates we’ve had for this week of September 4, 2022.

Half Race Racials

Every race that could prior have a half race has been tweaked to make it so that, across the board, the half race gets all racials & specials of their dominant race parent. We expect people to treat this fairly and not try to (for example) cheese perfectly Ailor-looking half-Asha for example with all Asha racials! Thank you.

Yanar Update

The Yanar race page has been rewritten! Check out the changes here.

  • New Intro.
  • Core Identity applied, given some more avenues. 
  • Subraces are gone. This was deemed necessary as subrace distinctions didn’t lead to different types of RP, and more often than not would rob a player of flexibility. As such, there is only “Yanar” now. 
  • Physical characteristics simplified. Players understand what a plant person should look like. There is art. No need to dumb it down by over-explaining. 
  • Yanar reproduction slightly altered. The old self-cloning is still a thing, but now we also have Yanar genders and Half-Yanar which are basically identical except they have the skin tone of the non-Yanar parent, and just can’t race-swap with Yanar shapeshifting. 
  • Wildbirth is kind of the same, just simplified. NOTE: Yanar do not have inherent Disguising ability in any of their Wildbirth/shapeshifting/etc for purely OOC mechanic balance reasons.

Yanar Ability Changes

  • Voidless added to clarify no Void Yanar (void Yanar will eventually be added as an expansion later in line with how Exist Kathar were added).
  • Two Free Spell Point Buy doesn’t exceed the 7 point magic cap.
  • Ageless is the same.
  • Existform is the same.
  • Existweight is the same.
  • Dreamrealm is the same.
  • Dreamhome is the same.
  • Nature Grasp was split in two and clarified aesthetics for Spell Point Buy Pack without purchasing it. 
  • Yattil and Solur is largely the same, though Yattil are hard locked to lizards birds and rodents, no cats or dogs 
    • Yanar do however gain Domestic Pet Point Buy for free, for a cat/dog sized plant pet. 
  • Floral Shift 1 to 4 governs the wide shapeshifting aesthetics Yanar have within the frame of Race. 
  • Empath Sense is the same.
  • Nature Crafter 1 allows Yanar to expand into metallurgy with new aesthetics.
  • Nature Crafter 2 is the same as the above, but gives them a unique Engineering Branch.
  • Nature Crafter 3 gives Yanar a really funny weapon summon 
  • Noxious Immune gives Yanar breathable toxin immunity, and immunity to the miasma of Guldar to allow Yanar to live with Maquixtl. 
  • Yanar aesthetics are the same.

Culture, Language and Trivia Changes

  • Culture is still kind of like “they have no culture!” but the subtext explains how they can function with Kathar (and not with Suvial). 
  • Language update to add a list of example names, while also adding a new principle for Yanar surnames, and clan names. 
  • Religion synchronized with Estellon Update. 
  • Families explain incorporation of other Races into their clans and making new clans. 
  • World view talks a bit about world stuff. 
  • Trivia Updates. 

Silven Rework

Silven Rework! Check out the changes here.

At surface level: There is no such thing as indirect or direct silven anymore, there is only direct silven, the social contract of playing a demi demon god, is to play them within the scope of the race of the parent. This means that indirect silven as a concept born from 2 non-Arken parents is completely non-existent. We also made some additional QOL changes:

  • Rules adapted to reflect the new changes. Also allow Silven Urlan, but Silven Urlan are essentially cleansed and lose their Specials. Undead Silven are no longer possible, due to a change in soul mechanics. But since this was already kind of the case, Undead Silven who remain are recommended to retcon them having been Silven, because it had no impact in character design anyway. 
  • Every Arken was assigned a Race, sex, and rough appearance metric where relevant, as well as active time period, so that players can play their character age and design accordingly. 
  • The Lust Arken was switched to the Legacy Arken who is more about fame and the south will rise again Arken. 
  • Dread Arken was replaced with the Corruption Arken because fear rp isn’t real, but corruption is and players need to be encouraged to do it. 
  • Ambition Arken was replaced with Purity Arken because we lost Do’Lah in the Estellon update and I consider her relevant to aesthetics. 
  • Arken was replaced with the Resolution Arken because you can’t really do anti slavery larp when 96% of the server is anti-slavery. 
  • Maestro Arken was replaced with the Diligence Arken because we need a foil to the Corruption Arken, Art Silven people can go to Diligence. 
  • Vengeance Arken was replaced with the Fury Arken because Vengeance is a lame concept and because Fury has a lot of on-server history. 
  • Reworded a lot of the descriptors and themes on the Arken to give them some more usability. 
  • Birdsfoot_Violet will add new specials to the Silven page for the lacking/new Arken soon.
  • Added a paragraph for Direct Raised Silven. But don’t get your hopes up too high about it.
